This book was interesting which helped me get through it so quickly. It was interesting...If there is more to get from it, it will have to wait for digestion.
One of the concerns being this far in the series is that the author's descriptions may start to become repetitive. The only scenes that are becoming repetitive are the space battles. But the plotlines are really starting to develop here. The notion of unknown aliens behind what's been considered the status quo is explored, we finally get to see some personalized interactions with Syndic citizens and military bureaucrats, there are active attempts from within to sabotage the fleet, and Geary and Desjani finally confront their growing attraction to one another. As the Alliance fleet gets closer to home, the danger increases. I would have to say this is, so far, my favorite book in the series.
