I read this whole book in two days. I just couldn't put it down. The book was heartbreaking but fascinating at the same time. First was the events of the weekend prior to the shooting. Then it was followed by the events of the actual day with all the details. Then the remainder of the book went through all the events leading up to the shooting including Dylan and Eric's planning and documentation of everything they did. Then it went on discuss the background of the victim's lives and things heard in the media versus the way they really were. There was also a cover up by the police department of all the threats that Eric made on one of his friends and their family as well as a record of a theft and the rehabilitation for both that followed. Eric was clearly a psychopath who enjoyed the killings but his day didn't go according to plan. If all the bombs he had placed in the school actually exploded everyone in the building would have died. Dylan was just a depressed and lonely kid who contemplated suicide for several years and bought into Eric's plan.
LOVE it. And that is all there is to say. Tolkien changed my life, and that's all there is to it.
